Rob Berrade is a Canadian based photographer currently living in Calgary, Alberta, and a proud member of the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada). Matador Photostudios does work with both commercial and private clients, photographing a wide variety of subjects ranging from quarterly reports and corporate headshots to indie music bands and fashion.
Rob is a long-time photographer with his passion for photography starting in grade nine shop class with a roll of black and white film, a borrowed camera and two weeks access to the darkroom facilities.
Also a musician Rob, used his contacts in the indie music scene to practice his photographic skills and shoot countless bands, live events and fashion.
Finally after many years of using basements, and apartment washrooms for darkrooms and spending every spare dollar to buy film and the next most affordable camera Rob began experimenting with digital photography in 1997 using a home built computer and a copy of Photoshop 4.
Rob returned to school in 1999 to study journalism and further hone his photographic skills. Unfortunatley this also meant spending two more years working with developer, stop, and fixer as the rest of the world slowly embraced the digital revolution.
2001 saw Rob start working full-time as a photographer. He travelled Canada photographing youth sports. Everything from hockey (of course) to soccer, gymnastics and figure skating.
Rob now spends most of his time working from his studio in Calgary.
